Soul, Dive Down and Rise
Driven by wind in bright bellied cloth,
a sailboat aspires, but the prow dips and leans heavily through the sea. The broad-winged and brown pelicans dive into the sea and gather, in their gaping, ballooning bills, the oily fishes. The flying fish surge from the water, skimming and banking above the swells, like prayers for brief sanctuary in air. Soul, dive down and rise. Open the sun-gilt waves, and read the grammar of sky and sea. |
